Why World Wide Sales?

We Understand

  • We understand that you have a choice for representation. You need someone who has the experience selling goods specifically in the New York Metro Marketplace, and the relationship to get things done quickly and efficiently. You need to create programs that make sense for both the Retailer, the consumer, and also for your company. You don’t need nonsense, you need to understand the real deal and you need results. We understand.
  • World Wide Sales isn’t your typical big broker. We are a family-owned and operated company with more than two decades of experience selling right here in the Big Apple. This is our home. This is where we live, work, and play. We understand consumers here because that is exactly what we are. We sell in our neighborhoods.
  • We offer every imaginable amenity that you can find with a broker of any size in any market, but with the care and consideration of a trusted, local friend who understands the market and has an relationship with the decision makers at important customers.
  • Our team has worked together in some circumstances dating all of the way back to the mid-1980’s. Previously our associates have worked together at Food Associates, Merkert Food Enterprises, and Marketing Specialists. We have more than a dozen associates who have been with our company for more than 15 years. We take great pride in the fact that we treat everyone who works for us and everyone that we represent as family. This has been the way that it has been since day one, and it will continue to be in the future. We don’t know of any other way to do business.

Common Questions

A food brokerage business, also known as a food broker or food sales agency, is a type of company that acts as an intermediary between food manufacturers or suppliers and retail or foodservice establishments. Food brokers facilitate the sale and distribution of food products on behalf of their clients. The primary role of a food brokerage business is to connect food manufacturers or suppliers with potential buyers, such as grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, or other foodservice establishments.

They act as sales representatives for the food producers, helping them reach a wider market and increase their product distribution. Food brokers work closely with both the manufacturers and the buyers. They negotiate contracts, handle sales and marketing activities, and ensure the smooth flow of products from the manufacturer to the end consumer. They are knowledgeable about the food industry, market trends, and consumer preferences, which helps them effectively promote and sell the products they represent.

Manufacturers can benefit from hiring a food broker for several reasons:

  • Market Expertise: Food brokers are knowledgeable about the food industry, market trends, and consumer preferences. They have a deep understanding of the market dynamics, competitive landscape, and distribution channels. Manufacturers can leverage their expertise to gain insights into the market, identify potential opportunities, and make informed decisions regarding product positioning and market entry strategies.
  •
  • Access to Retailers and Buyers: Food brokers have established relationships with retailers, grocery chains, restaurants, and other foodservice establishments. They have access to a network of potential buyers, which can be challenging for a manufacturer to reach independently. By working with a food broker, manufacturers can tap into their existing connections and expand their product distribution to a wider market.
  •
  • Sales and Marketing Support: Food brokers act as sales representatives for the manufacturer’s products. They develop sales strategies, promote the products, and negotiate contracts with potential buyers. They have expertise in sales and marketing techniques, which can help increase product visibility, generate sales, and achieve market penetration.
  •
  • Cost-Effective Distribution: Managing distribution networks and logistics can be complex and costly for manufacturers, especially for smaller or emerging companies. Food brokers handle the logistics of product distribution, including order processing, inventory management, and delivery arrangements. By outsourcing these functions to a food broker, manufacturers can save time and resources, as brokers have established systems and relationships in place to efficiently handle distribution.
  •
  • Focus on Core Competencies: Hiring a food broker allows manufacturers to focus on their core competencies, such as product development, quality control, and production. The broker takes care of sales, marketing, and distribution aspects, enabling the manufacturer to allocate more time and resources to their core business functions.
  •
  • Industry Insights and Trends: Food brokers stay updated on industry insights, market trends, and consumer preferences. They can provide manufacturers with valuable information and feedback regarding product performance, market demand, and emerging trends. This knowledge can help manufacturers refine their product offerings, adapt to changing consumer needs, and stay competitive in the market.
  •

Overall, hiring a food broker can provide manufacturers with market expertise, access to buyers, sales and marketing support, cost-effective distribution, and the ability to focus on their core competencies. It can be a strategic partnership that helps manufacturers expand their market reach, increase sales, and achieve their business goals.

WWS has been in operation since April of 2001, although several of our associates have worked together for years before our founding in other brokerage organizations. Those included Marketing Specialists, Merkert Food Enterprises, and Food Associates, dating all the way back to the mid-1980’s. We are very proud of our long history!

Simply put, we focus our efforts on the departments in the traditional store layout where the perishable sections are on the “Perimeter” of the store. These would include the Dairy, Deli, Bakery, Seafood, Meat, and Produce Departments. We also service the Frozen department as well and we dabble in Grocery, but it is not our focus.

Feel free to reach out to our team via the contact portion of our website, or simply give us a call! One of our business managers would be happy to discuss your needs and to answer any questions you might have about doing business in our Marketplace. If we can help you and we both feel like we have a fit, we can set up a meeting to get started!
